Air Ambulance Deployed as A686 Closed Following Collision

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with a 'serious' leg injury after a collision on the A686 near Melmerby.

The incident happened at around 10:36am this morning (Friday, 4th April) and involved a collision between a motorbike and a car.

The air ambulance attended to airlift the motorcyclist to hospital with a serious leg injury.

The driver of the car is understood to have not sustain any injuries.

Both vehicles involved in the accident are in the process of being recovered with the A686 currently closed to allow recovery of the vehicles.
