Driver of Car Taken to Hospital after Lakes Side Crash

Emergency services were called to the A592 by Ullswater shortly after midnight on Sunday (3rd August) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle understood to be from Penrith, was then taken to hospital with injuries described as ‘not serious’ by police following the collision.

The car left the A592 and crashed through trees ending up on its side suspended by bushes above the edge of the lake.

A spokesperson for Eden Police who had been busy over the weekend with Kendal Calling said they had ended the weekend: “assisting the fire brigade, North West Ambulance Service and our Road Policing colleagues at a road traffic collision.”
