Police Engage with HGV Drivers using Castletown as Shortcut

Following concerns raised by local residents about Vehicle's prohibited under the Traffic regulation Order using CastleTown as a shortcut to access the town’s industrial estates.

Cumbria Police have engaged with HGV drivers who are using CastleTown as a shortcut to the industrial estates and will visiting businesses on the industrial estate asking them to remind HGVs visiting their business to use the correct route and will continue to engage with haulage firms around the TRO.

Officers have also liaised with Westmorland and Furness Highways regarding vegetation covering the signs to be cut back.
