Police Stop Over limit Disqualified Driver on A6 Near Clifton and Find Cocaine in Vehicle

Police from the Eden Neighbourhood Policing team on Friday night (12th July) stopped the driver of a vehicle travelling South from Eamont Bridge on the A6 towards Clifton.

The vehicle was pulled over into the lay-by at Clifton Cross by police and was found Tom have no insurance and the driver was also disqualified from driving. The driver was also found to be over the alcohol limit and when police searched the vehicle and driver they discovered the driver was also in possession of a quantity of cocaine.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with multiple offences including disqualified driving, no insurance, possession of class A drug (cocaine) and being over the prescribed limit of alcohol.
