Protest at Penrith Annual Town Meetings

A resident took to protesting at the Annual Penrith Town meeting.

The protest calling for a 20mph speed limit for Penrith by the resident was sparked after a number of near misses experienced by the protester in Penrith.


Penrith Town council approved a motion calling on Cumbria Highways in 2021 to implement a 20mph zone for all of Penrith.


The motion put forward in 2021 by now retiring town councillor Jonathan Davies. Is now under active progression by the highways department of Westmorland and Furness with the work commenced by the predecessor Cumbria Highways the protester was informed.
