A section of Devonshire Street/Market Square in Penrith will be closed from Monday morning 7th April to allow United Utilities to carry out work that is anticipated to take up to two days to complete.
The work will be carried out with a full closure of the section of the A6 Devonshire Street, from a point at its junction with Market Square extending in a northerly direction for approx. 20m.
An alternative route for Southeast bound traffic is via Castlegate, Ullswater Road, A66, Bridge Lane, Victoria Road and King Street.
An alternative route for Northwest bound traffic is via King Street, Victoria Road, Bridge Lane, A66,Ullswater Road, Cromwell Road, Brunswick Road, Duke Street, Stricklandgate, Corney Square, and Middlegate.
Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists access will be maintained at all times with access for Emergency Vehicles maintained where required for the duration of the works.
